DAYTON, Ohio - After suffering a tough loss on Friday night at Xavier, the UMass women's tennis team bounced back on Saturday afternoon to defeat Dayton 6-1 at the Five Seasons Sports Club. The win marks the 10th of the season for the Minutewomen and improves the squad to 4-1 against A-10 foes.

UMass won all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point at the start of the afternoon.

Playing at No. 1 singles for just the third time this season, Sonia Bokhari picked up a straight set win over Sammi Hornbarger. Yuliana Motyl played No. 2 singles and recorded a straight set win over Carley Peck.

Maureen Stevens defeated Jessica Podlofsky in No. 3 singles needing three sets. Stevens won the first set 6-2 before Podlofsky came back to win the second set by the same score. The pair battled through a tie breaker set with Stevens coming away with a 10-6 win to secure the win.

Chanel Glasper also needed a tie-breaker set to win No. 4 singles, but was able to win the second and third sets after falling in the first one to Katie Boeckman.

Jocelyn Providence and Chantal Swiszcz each tallied straight set wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles to round out the match.

The Minutewomen will continue their five-match road swing this Friday at Boston College starting at 5 PM.
