NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The University of Massachusetts fell to Yale in women's collegiate tennis action, 7-0, yesterday in New Haven, Conn. The loss dropped UMass to 1-2 overall, and 0-1 in the spring portion of its schedule.

Freshman Dorothy Iwanowicz (Hilton Head, S.C.) competed in the closest match of the day, taking Yale's Karlyn Martin to three sets. After dropping the first set, 6-3, Iwanowicz came back to take the second set, 6-4. However, Martin clinched the match when she won the third set 6-1.

The Minutewomen will next compete on Feb. 21 when they host Army at 6:00 p.m. at the Bay Road Tennis Center.
