Podlofsky Ties Singles Record In Tennis' 6-1 Win Over Bryant

AMHERST, Mass. -
After dropping a pair of matches last weekend against Brown and Harvard, the UMass tennis team bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 win over Bryant at the Bay Road Tennis Center. Senior Jessica Podlofsky tied the program's record for career singles' victories with her 67th putting her alongside Michele Spiess.
Podlofsky will have a chance to take sole possession on Sunday when the Minutewomen host Long Island (12:30 PM).
UMass started the afternoon strong by winning the doubles point. Yuliana Motyl and Arielle Griffin teamed up to win the No. 1 competition 6-2, while Chanel Glasper and Anna Woosley clinched the point with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
Podlofsky won her match at No. 3 singles defeating Bryant's Rosie Bird in straight sets (6-1, 7-6).
Aarzoo Malik, Griffin, Woosley and Glasper all won in singles play as well.
Bryant's point was won by Marion Bouillin who defeated Motyl at No. 1 singles.
