The UMass tennis team starts the 2013 spring campaign this Friday at Brown and Sunday at home against Saint Joseph's. Head coach Judy Dixon sits down with UMassAthletics to talk about the progress from the fall and what she expects to see this spring.

As A Junior (2014-15): Match-by-Match Statistics
Spring: Received a team award following the 2015 spring season, earning the title of co-MVP alongside Ana Yrazusta … Head coach Judy Dixon announced that Griffin would serve as a co-captain for the 2015-16 year alongside rising junior Julia Larson … Also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team for her strong efforts in both singles and doubles play … Competed in No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Conference Championships (4/16-4/19) ... Posted a 6-1, 6-2 No. 3 singles win against Richmond at the A-10 Tournament (4/18) ... Also contributed an 8-7 No. 2 doubles win over Duquesne alongside Aarzoo Malik during the tournament (4/17) ... Won five straight singles matches beginning March 28 and ending April 12. The junior bested the likes of Albany, Fairleigh Dickinson, Rhode Island, Bryant and Sacred Heart in the series. Griffin also swept Sacred Heart in both singles and doubles contests (3/28-4/12) ... Defeated Samford on the road in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 (3/17) ... Rallied for two come-from-behind singles victories over Providence and Saint Louis in back-to-back matches to scores of 6-4, 2-6, 10-5 and 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, respectively (3/6, 3/8) ... Battled for a No. 2 singles win over Fordham and finished with a score of 7-6, 7-6 after also contributing an 8-2 doubles win alongside Aarzoo Malik (3/1) ... Won back-to-back singles matches against Army and Marist in straight sets (2/13, 2/14) ...Tallied her first matches of the spring season against Quinnipiac in the home opener, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 3 singles and 6-4 in No. 3 doubles alongside Brittany Collens (2/7). Fall: Rounded out the 2014 fall season at the Big Green Invitational where Griffin rallied for two come-from-behind singles wins. Griffin recorded scores of 3-6, 7-6, 7-5 and 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 against Boston University and Minnesota, respectively (11/4) ... Took home three singles matches at the Army Invitational against St. Bonaventure, New Jersey Institute and Fordham. The junior also clinched four of five doubles matches, including an 8-0 sweep against Seton Hall (9/29) ... Paired up with Aarzoo Malik at the Brown Invitational where the pair recorded two 8-1 doubles victories over Providence (9/21).
As A Sophomore (2013-14): Finished her sophomore year 12-11 overall in singles play and improved her career singles record to 32-17 over two seasons ... Clinched 10 victories in dual matches and won all four Atlantic 10 singles matches that she faced this season ... In doubles play, Griffin wrapped up the season 8-12 overall and 2-2 in the A-10 ... When paired alongside Aarzoo Malik, the tandem won five-of-eight matches, four of which were realized at the No. 2 spot. Spring: Griffin had her hand in post-season tournament play where she inked a 5-4 No. 2 doubles win in the first round of the A-10 Championships (4/24) ... Closed out her regular season conference matches with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rhode Island in No. 4 singles while also blanking the Rams 8-0 in No. 2 doubles (4/19) ... Defeated Saint Joseph's, Mulquin, 6-3, 6-4 at home after claiming an 8-1 No. 2 doubles victory alongside Malik (4/4) ... Captured a come-from-behind victory in No. 3 singles against Quinnipiac, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 (4/3) ... Took home the first A-10 win against Fordham with a 7-6, 6-4 showing in No. 4 singles (2/28) ... Opened her sophomore season playing at the No. 4 and No. 1 singles and doubles spots, respectively, at Brown (2/4). Fall: Opened the 2013-14 season with an 8-3 No. 2 doubles win over Connecticut and was paired with senior, Sonia Bokhari (10/10) ... Tabbed two singles victories in the Dartmouth Invitational including an impressive come-from-behind win over West Virginia, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 (11/3).
As A Freshman (2012-13): Spring: Lost to Brown (2/1) in No. 3 singles, 7-6, 1-6, 6-3...Added a win at No. 3 doubles 8-2 with teammate Jessica Podlofsky at the match ... At St. Joseph's (2/3), posted a win from No. 3 singles over Eisenbrand, 6-2, 6-1 ... Also lost in No. 3 doubles, 8-6, with Jessica Podlofsky at the match ... Defeated Army's Iliev (2/15) in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 7-5 ... Also posted a win in No. 3 doubles 8-6 in the match ...
