AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass men's and women's swimming and diving teams head to Providence, R.I. to take on Brown University Saturday. The meet is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. This is the first ever matchup between the Minutewomen and the Brown Bears. The men hold a 3-4 all-time record against Brown with their last meeting during the 1996 season.

To this point in the season many Minutewomen rank highly in the conference top-times. Jocelyn Yuen, last weeks Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, sits in second and third, respectively in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly. She also ranks fifth in the 200-yard IM.

Sophomore tandem of Molly Smyth and Zoe Judd are both in the top-five of the freestyle events. Smyth ranks second in both the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle events, while Judd sits in fourth in the 50 free, fifth in the 100 free and second in the 200 free.

Michaela Butler continues her reign over the divers in the A-10 sitting atop the one and three-meter rankings.

On the men's side Michael Glenn, last weeks A-10 Performer of the Week, sits in the top-three of four events. He has a conference best time in the 200-yard IM, along with second best times in the 100- and 200-yard breast events and a third best time in the 400 IM.

John Conway holds the conference best time in the 50-yard freestyle, with Pete Sacco coming in behind him in third.

On the boards for the Minutemen Alexander Merkulov holds the top score in the three-meter dive, and the second best score in the one-meter.

The Brown Bears are led in the pool by junior Tommy Glenn. Last year he won both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events at the Ivy League Championship en route to NCAA B-cut times. Briana Borgolini leads the Brown women. Last season she also had b-cut qualifying times in 100- and 200-yard back events at the Ivy League Championship.

Following the meet against Brown the men's and women's swimmers will prepare for next weekends Terrier Invitational. The invite is scheduled to begin on Friday evening and continue until Sunday. The divers will be heading to the Galbraith Diving Invitational held on the campus of Rutgers in New Brunswick, N.J.
