AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned three of the four Atlantic 10 weekly awards following their dual-meet at Boston University last weekend. Chris Inglis captured the Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week and Michaela Butler was selected as Women's Swimming and Diving Co-Performer of the Week. In addition, Kyle Vieira captured Men's Rookie of the Week honors.

Inglis, a junior from Mashpee, Mass., won first place in the 200-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 1:42.67. He also tied for first place in the 100 free with a time of 47.10, while also finishing second in the 400 free relay touching the wall at a time of 3:08.80 with a split time of 47.30.

Bulter, was also a standout this past weekend in the meet at BU. The senior from Dennisport, Mass. secured first place in both the one-meter and three-meter dives earning scores of 290.10 and 286.05, respectively. Her score in the one-meter qualified her for the NCAA B-Cuts.

Vieira picked up Men's Rookie of the Week honors following his first collegiate meet. The freshman from Franklin, Mass. finished third in the 1000 freestyle earning a time of 9:45.11 and second in the 500 freestyle securing a time of 4:46.65.

Both teams are set to host Army for their 2012-13 home opener on Friday, October 19 at Joseph Rogers Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. and will air on CBS 3 Now (Comcast 293 and Charter 230) and online at UMassathletics.com.
