Merchant Accepts Coaching Position At Minnesota

The University of Minnesota has announced that UMass softball assistant coach Jessica Merchant has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Golden Gophers. Merchant spent four seasons with the Minutewomen, helping lead the team to an Atlantic 10 Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth in each of those seasons. MORE

UMass Softball Honored By BoSox Club

For the sixth consecutive year, the UMass softball team will be honored by the BoSox Club, the official booster club of the Boston Red Sox, as the top Division I softball team in New England. Henderson Named Assistant Coach At Ohio State

UMass softball legend Danielle Henderson was named an assistant coach at Ohio State, it was announced today. The 1999 UMass graduate and 2009 UMass Hall of Fame inductee will work primarily as the Buckeyes' pitching coach. MORE

Several Minutewomen In Action With Brakettes

Six current and former UMass softball players began their summer ball seasons last weekend playing for the famed Stratford Brakettes. Plourde Named NFCA All-American

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-American Teams on Wednesday with UMass pitcher Sara Plourde earning third team honors. The sophomore pitcher from Bristol, Conn. is the 18th All-American in Minutewomen history after leading the nation in wins, strikeouts, and strikeouts per seven innings this season. MORE

Four Named To ECAC All-Star Teams

The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference has released its 2010 softball All-Star teams with four UMass players taking honors. Sara Plourde was named the ECAC Pitcher of the Year, while Sarah Reeves (first base) and Katie Bettencourt (outfield) took first team honors and Carly Normandin (outfield) took second team honors.
