UMass Softball Unveils 2012 Schedule

UMass softball head coach Elaine Sortino has announced the 22-time Atlantic 10 Champion Minutewomen's 2012 schedule. Included on the docket for UMass this spring are three tournaments in Florida and one in Alabama along with 17 home games on 14 dates at the UMass Softball Complex, beginning on Mar. 27. MORE

Softball Second In Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

After their streak of five consecutive league titles came to a halt last season, the Massachusetts Minutewomen will look to move back to the top of the Atlantic 10 standings as they return eight starters, including reigning Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the year, Sara Plourde, off of last year's team that finished 29-19 overall and 14-5 in conference. USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Preseason Poll Released

The UMass Softball team has received two votes in the national coaches poll for the 2012 season. The Minutewomen went 29-19 overall and 14-5 in the Atlantic 10 last season, finishing in second place behind Fordham in the conference. Fordham also received votes (1) in the poll, the only other Atlantic 10 school represented. MORE

For the second year, the UMass softball team will host its annual winter clinic on January 15 from 9AM-4PM in the Boyden Gym. The clinic is open to girls ages 12-18. MORE
