VALENCIA, Venezuela -- Track junior Davina Hernandez (Bristol, Conn.) as she and the Puerto Rico Softball Team look to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympics the next week at the Americas Olympic qualifier. One team from the qualifier will join Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, the Netherlands, and the United States in Beijing, China next year.

Puerto Rico began the qualifier with a 4-3 win over Cuba in eight innings Sunday afternoon. This marked Puerto Rico's first win over Cuba in nine years. Hernandez was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
