  • Not just a threat at the plate, Normandin's defense has proven it can alter games as well. Her diving catch during the third inning vs. DePaul kept Balschmiter's no-hit bid alive. Her catch of a low liner in the bottom of the sixth with two runners on base ended a Michigan threat and helped lead the Minutewomen to a 1-0 victory over the fifth-ranked Wolverines.
  • The centerfielder burst on the scene last season and established herself as a game-changer on offense and defense. After seeing just 25 at-bats as a freshman, Normy won the starting job in centerfield as a sophomore and posted a .324 batting average, 14 doubles, six home runs, 36 RBI, and a .592 slugging pct (1st on team).

  • In just her second start for the Minutewomen, Plourde recorded a no-hitter against Dayton, just missing a perfect game. Plourde hit her first batter, but went on to retire the next 18, striking out nine. It was the 73rd time a pitcher threw a no-hitter and would have been just the ninth perfect game in UMass history. For that effort, Plourde was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.
