Series History Against The Field
San Jose State: The Spartans have won three of the four meetings with the Minutewomen but the teams have not played since the 1990 season.
Long Beach State: UMass holds a 3-2 series edge, but the 49ers have won the last two games, including a 2-0 decision in the 2010 SDSU Classic II.
Colorado State: The Minutewomen hold a 3-1 lead on the Rams, including the most recent contest, a 7-1 UMass win in the 2011 USF Under Armour Showcase. UMass also won two of three meetings en route to the 1997 NCAA Amherst Regional title and its second WCWS appearance.
UNLV: UMass is 2-6 against the Rebels with the last win coming in 2001. The only postseason meetings between the schools came in the 1991 NCAA Amherst Regional when UNLV won a pair of games at Totman Field.
UMass Picked First In A-10 Preseason Poll
UMass has been predicted to finish first in the 2013 Atlantic 10 Championship in polling of the conference coaches. Head Coach Elaine Sortino's Minutewomen have won the seven of the last eight A-10 titles, 16 of the last 18, and 23 overall. Fordham, the 2011 champion, was predicted to finish second.
