The 2013 squad consists of four seniors, five juniors, five sophomores and five freshman. The 19-member team hails from eight different states, with the majority coming from Massachusetts (8), California (2) and New Hampshire (2). UMass also has one player each from Arizona, California, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

Series History Against The Field
LIU-Brooklyn: UMass is 8-1 against LIU Brooklyn, with the loss coming three years ago by a 3-1 score in the opening game of the 2011 NCAA Amherst Regional.
Toledo: The Minutewomen have only faced Toledo once before this week. UMass claimed a 17-0 win in five innings at the 2011 USF/Under Armour Showcase.
Maryland: UMass holds a 4-1 series lead with the Terps. UMass won 6-0 in 2001 in Tallahassee, Fla. and 8-3 in 2009, while Maryland registered a 2-1 win in 2008. The 2008 & 2009 meetings also came at the FAU Kickoff Classic. Last season UMass took a pair from the Terps at the Easton Alabama Invite, 16-6 (5) and 4-1.
FAU: One of the few teams to hold a winning record against UMass coach Elaine Sortino, the Owls are 9-5 against the Minutewomen. The game will pit UMass' NFCA Hall of Famer against Joan Joyce, who was inducted into the HOF this past off season.
Michigan: UMass is 3-7 all-time against Michigan but did claim the most recent match-up, 1-0, at last year's NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Fla. The shutout was the first of a Michigan team in a 70-game span.
