AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts centerfielder Christine Della Vecchia picked a very opportune time to deliver her first RBI of the season. The junior went the other way with a single to left that drove in Lindsey Webster with two outs in the seventh for a 1-0 victory over Boston University at the UMass Softball Complex Wednesday.

UMass (31-11) won its 15th-consecutive game and ended its regular-season home slate with a 13-0 record. The Minutewomen will now travel to Fordham and La Salle this weekend to conclude the regular-season.

Della Vecchia's hit was set up by Webster who placed a bloop double in the grass behind third base just out of the reach of the Terriers? Brittany Clendenny. Following a flyout to left, Webster moved to third on a wild pitch by Whitney Tuthill.

Sara Plourde improved to 30-9 with a complete-game, 13-strikeout performance. She allowed three hits and had a first-pitch strike to 20 batters.

Webster had a game-high two hits, while Cyndil Matthew and Quianna Diaz-Patterson each collected a base hit.

UMass loaded the bases in the first inning and had two on in the second but was unable to break through.

Boston University (34-14) saw its 10-game win streak come to a close. Tuthill (12-5) struck out three Minutewomen and walked three. She retired 14-straight UMass batters before Webster's double in the seventh.

Emily Roesch had a double for the Terriers, while Jayme Mask had a bunt single and Erica Cassaci had a single in the gap in left-center.

UMass enters the final week of Atlantic 10 Conference play in first place with a 15-0 record. Fordham is in second with a 14-2 mark. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. with Saturday's contest at Noon. All remaining UMass games will feature an audio broadcast at
