Box Score

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - La Salle got a walk-off home run to claim a 3-0 win over Massachusetts that spoiled a solid outing on the mound for Caroline Raymond at West Campus Field Thursday.

Raymond (7-9) struck out a career-high 10 and walked just three, but scattered eight hits, including the damaging 3-run home run with one out in the seventh inning.

UMass (10-16, 4-3 Atlantic 10) saw its four-game league winning streak come to an end and wasn't able to get enough offense going to put any pressure on the La Salle defense. The Minutewomen finished with just two hits and only had five base runners.

La Salle (15-14, 7-2) had runners in scoring position four times before the final inning. Alicia Aughton (9-7) earned the win and had the game-winning hit, her fourth homer of the season. She went 2-for-4 on the day and had her big hit after being struck out looking her two previous at-bats.

The teams will play the second game in the series on Friday at 3 p.m. The game will again be broadcast online at UMassAthletics.com and available on the Atlantic 10 Conference mobile app.
