Box Score

Columbus, Ga. - Cal State Fullerton scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back as the Titans cruised their way to a 6-0 romp over No. 25 University of Massachusetts at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga.

The Titans added another run in the third and three more in the fourth off of UMass hurler Kaila Holtz (North Vancouver, British Columbia) as she gave up six runs on eight hits, while striking out two in the loss. The UMass defense struggled behind her, committing three errors in the game.

Freshman Kelli Arnold (Kalama, Wash.) came in to relieve Holtz in the fourth inning and contained the Titans to only one hit over 3.1 innings, but the damage had been done.

UMass' lone base runner came in the sixth inning as pinch hitter KC Budrewicz (Buckland, Mass.) walked.

Cox struck out 14 Minutewomen en route to her third career no-hitter.

The Minutewomen, who fall to 3-4 on the season, take to the diamond tomorrow against No. 2 Stanford (9-0) at 12:30 p.m.
