After completing a highly successful playing career last spring, Tracey Osier enters her first season as an assistant coach on Elaine Sortino's staff. Osier will assist with all aspects of the softball program including recruiting, practice preparation and player development. Osier will work primarily with the outfielders.
A four year starter in the outfield from 1995-98, Osier completed a fine career at UMass last spring. A member of four Atlantic 10 Championship teams, Osier was a pivotal part of the teams that advanced to the Women's College World Series in both 1997 and 1998. A .346 lifetime hitter, Osier finished as the UMass base stealing queen, swiping 103 career bases in her career. Osier owns the top four single-season base stealing performances all-time, including the record 33 she stole last year. She also ranks fourth in hits (203), fourth in sacrifice hits (42) and third in runs scored (118). A two time All-Northeast selection (1996, 1998) ,Atlantic 10 Selection (1995, 1998), and Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team selection (1997 and 1998) in the outfield, Osier was also named to the NCAA All-Regional Team in 1998.
Osier graduated in May with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science. A native of Mattydale, N.Y. Osier is single and resides in Amherst.
