Peter Olsen is in his first season as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at UMass. His primary sport responsibilities are working with the field hockey and softball teams. Olsen also worked with the football team last fall on its run to the NCAA Championship game in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Olsen is currently working towards his Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Sport Management at UMass. He graduated cum laude from Whitworth (Wash.) College in 2001 with a degree in Athletic Training and Physical Education.
Olsen recently worked at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts and has also worked in training rooms at UMass, Mount Holyoke, Gonzaga and Whitworth.
Olsen served as a captain in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps. He was based out of Fort Drum (N.Y.) and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad as well as Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He is originally from Montana and resides in Lake Pleasant, Mass. with his wife Stephanie.
