AMHERST, Mass. - UMass senior defender Meghan Collins has been selected to the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Division I All-Star second team, it was announced on Wednesday. The All-Stars were determined through votes by coaches or their designee within the Division I membership and represent schools from the ACC, America East, Atlantic 10 BIG EAST, CAA and Ivy League conferences.

Collins, a marketing major, was recently named the UMass female Fall Scholar-Athlete and has collected several postseason accolades after helping the Minutewomen post their most successful campaign since 1997 with a record of 14-5-2 and a runner-up performance in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

She was tabbed an NSCAA All-Mid-Atlantic Region second team defender after previously being honored as first team All-New England, first team All-Atlantic 10 and earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team. The co-captain was one of five players to start all 21 games in 2011 and totaled five points on two goals and one assist, which included one game-winner.
