UMass Women's Soccer Earns Fifth Straight A-10 Championship Berth

AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's soccer team has earned a berth into the Atlantic 10 Championship for a fifth consecutive season, the conference office announced on Sunday evening. The Minutewomen, who won a three-way tiebreaker with George Washington and VCU to capture the No. 6 seed, will take on No. 3 Saint Louis in the second quarterfinal match of the day on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at VCU's Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.

Prior to the Minutewomen's match against the Billikens, No. 2 La Salle will face No. 7 George Washington at 11 a.m. The winners of both contests will meet in Friday's semifinal at 5 p.m.

On the opposite side of the bracket, top-seeded Dayton will face No. 8 VCU at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, while No. 4 St. Bonaventure and No. 5 George Mason will conclude the day's action at 7:30 p.m. The advancing teams will play in the second semifinal match on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m.

The championship final is set for Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1:00 p.m. with the winner receiving an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Each game of the Women's Soccer Championship will be streamed for free on the A-10 Digital Network.

UMass defeated St. Bonaventure at home on Saturday, 2-0, in the final match of the regular season to help secure its spot in the A-10 Championship. The Minutewomen are currently 7-8-3 overall and finished 3-3-2 in conference action.
