AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's soccer sophomore forward Moa Mattsson earned CoSIDA Academic All-Region First Team laurels, as announced by the organization recently. Mattsson led the Minutewomen with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists while earning a 3.96 GPA in engineering.

Mattsson has also been recognized by the A-10 for her success on the field and in the classroom this season, earning All-Atlantic 10 First Team and Academic All-Conference awards. The Uppsala, Sweden, native is just the fifth Minutewoman in program history to collect All-A-10 accolades in each of her first two seasons, earning a second team selection as a freshman in 2011.

Mattsson's 29 points on the year are the most by a Minutewoman since Emma Kurowski, UMass' all-time points leader, recorded 32 as a senior in 1999 on her way to Atlantic 10 Player of the Year recognition. He two-goal game against Duquesne in the regular season finale marked her third four-point match of the season.

The converted midfielder, in her first season up front, started all 20 games for the Minutewomen and ranks 10th in the nation in game-winning goals with five, tied for second in the A-10. Entering the A-10 Tournament, Mattsson ranked in the top-five in the conference for goals (t-2nd), points (3rd), points per-game (4th) and goals per-game (t-5th).
