AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's soccer senior Vanessa Patry has been named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District second team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. It marks the third-consecutive year that a Minutewoman has earned the honor. Kaelyn Caldwell cracked the team for the last two years, including being named First Team All-District (and Third Team All-American) last year.

Patry has enjoyed a sensational senior season with a new career-high 13 points on five goals and three assists. She's had an incredible impact on the Minutewomen offense, having a part in 62% of UMass' goals. She tied her career-high of two goals in a game on two occasions, scoring a pair in UMass' 2-2 home-opening tie against New Hampshire and two more in a 2-1 double overtime win over Holy Cross on Sept. 14.

The Delmar, N.Y. native has also enjoyed tremendous success in the classroom, recording a 3.78 GPA in Biology/Neuroscience.

Patry and the Minutewomen look ahead to a huge weekend, hosting Saint Louis on Friday (3 p.m.) and No. 25 Charlotte (1 p.m.) on Sunday. She will be honored along with the four other seniors (Amy Ballew, Vanessa Lima, Tina Rodriguez, Melissa Toulouse) at approximately 12:40 p.m. prior to Sunday's game against the 49ers.
