AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's soccer senior forward Cristina Adams was named Co-Atlantic 10 Player of the Week the A-10 office announced on Monday afternoon. The honor, which is the first career weekly A-10 accolade for Adams, marks the second for a member of the Minutewomen this season.

In the 27th minute against Rhode Island this past Saturday, Adams put UMass on the board with her first tally of the season, giving the squad a 1-0 lead against the Rams.

Then at 79:57 with the score tied at 1-1, Adams struck again for her second goal of the day versus URI, a match the Minutewomen went on to win, 3-2. It marked Adams' first multi-goal game of her career and set a new career high in points for the senior with four.

UMass will be back in action this Friday, Oct. 23, when the squad will play its first of two games in Ohio, at Xavier at 7 p.m.
