AMHERST, Mass. - After helping the UMass women's soccer team to a 2-0 week with a pair of shutouts, senior goalkeeper Emily Cota has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and UMass Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. The conference weekly honor marks the first of her career from the A-10.

Seeing her first action of the 2012 season, Cota posted back-to-back clean sheets and made a total of 14 saves, seven in each contest at Boston University and vs. New Hampshire. The Minutewomen defeated the Terriers, 1-0, and followed up with a 2-0 win over the Wildcats on Sunday.

The shutouts were Cota's 17th and 18th of her UMass career, moving her within one of the No. 5 all-time mark in program history. She is now fifth all time in career saves with 254.
