AMHERST, Mass. - UMass women's soccer redshirt freshman goalkeeper Danielle Kriscenski has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It marks the first weekly award for the Minutewomen this season and first honor for Kriscenski in her collegiate career.
Kriscenski backstopped UMass to a 1-0-1 record last week, allowing just one goal while playing all 200 minutes in net for the Minutewomen over the pair of road matches. The Bristol, Conn., native made a season-high eight saves to help UMass to a 1-1 draw at Providence on Friday afternoon.
She then earned her first collegiate shutout on Sunday with five saves in a 1-0 victory at New Hampshire. For the week, Kriscenski logged a 0.45 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage.
