AMHERST, Mass. - When the UMass women's soccer team prepares to vie for the program's sixth Atlantic 10 Championship this fall, it will do so on a new practice site. Beginning in September, the Minutewomen will train on a newly-seeded, lighted practice venue, located at the Gladchuck Fields behind McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

The 105x70 yard field was recently seeded with Kentucky bluegrass and is expected to be ready for use around Sept. 1.

"The addition of the new practice facility will allow us to run better training sessions on a surface that will be similar to our game surface at Rudd," said head coach Ed Matz. "This facility will be on par with what many of our closest competitors have available to them for training."
