Women's Soccer Announces 2005 Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts Head Coach Jim Rudy announced the 2005 women's soccer schedule this week. Highlighting the Minutewomen's slate is Connecticut, a 2004 NCAA tournament team. UMass hosts nine games on its home turf, Rudd Field, and will be on the road for nine.
The Minutewomen will open the season with two exhibition games before the regular season when they host Hartford on Aug. 26. They close out the month at Boston University.
UMass plays host to Marist, Vermont, Dartmouth, Fairfield and Fordham in September. The game vs. the Catamounts on Sept. 18 begins a five-game homestand for Massachusetts, while the Big Green are ranked No. 13 in the Northeast Region top-15 by Soccer Buzz Magazine.
In October, UMass hosts St. Bonaventure, Duquense and St. Louis, which was also ranked No. 8 in the Central Region by Soccer Buzz. The last four games of the season will be played on the road: at George Washington, at LaSalle, at Charlotte and at Richmond.
