AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's soccer team closed out its spring schedule on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to the New England Mutiny at Rudd Field. New England, who plays in the Women's Premier Soccer League, received second half goals from Karen Gurnon and Erin Clark for the victory. UMass goalkeepers Lauren Luckey and Katie Muller combined to make seven saves on the afternoon. The game was part of Supercuts SoccerFest run solely by the UMass Sport Management department.

After the teams played to a scoreless first half, the Munity came out strong with a number of early chances in the second stanza. They capitalized at the 64:58 mark when Gurnon cleaned up a rebound attempt after Muller made the strong initial save.

New England made it 2-0 at 74:23 when Clark finished a beautiful cross from Jenny Maurer.

Luckey made two saves in over one half of action while Muller finished with five stops. Final shots stood at 17-5 in favor of the Mutiny while UMass had four corners to New England's three.
