Women's Soccer Announces Spring Schedule
March 28, 2012
AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass women's soccer team's training for the quest to capture program's sixth Atlantic 10 title this fall are well underway. In preparation for the 2012 campaign, the Minutewomen have a slate of five spring games on the docket for March and April. "After coming of our successful 2011 fall season, I am very excited for this spring," said head coach Ed Matz. "The level of competition is high as we play all top level Division I programs, many of which we will face as a part of our 2012 schedule. The spring will allow many of our younger players to play extended minutes as we prepare them to step on the field this coming fall." Coming off the team's match vs. an international club from Japan at McGuirk Stadium this past Tuesday, the squad will be in action Saturday, Mar. 31, at 2:15 p.m., playing once again on the turf vs. Providence. The Minutewomen will travel to Hartford for a 7 p.m. match on Thursday, Apr. 5, and will head to Boston University for a 4 p.m. contest on Sunday, Apr. 15.
UMass will then close out the spring slate back in Amherst on Rudd Field, taking on Holy Cross at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 21.
