PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The UMass women's soccer team dropped its regular season finale, falling 3-0 at La Salle on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Minutewomen are now 8-10-0, 5-4-0 in the Atlantic 10, while the Explorers move to 10-8-2, 4-4-1 in conference play. Both teams have qualified for the A-10 Tournament and will be in action on Thursday at Rhode Island, with seeds and match ups to be announced.

La Salle controlled much of the play in the first half, holding a 7-1 shot advantage in the opening period. The Explorers eventually got on the board in the 35th minute as Renee Washington received a pass from Ashley Chilcoat up the right sideline, dribbled towards the goal and chipped a shot into the far left corner of the net.

At the 61:53 mark, Heather Steadman sent a cross from the left in to Leigh Gray, who had her initial shot stopped. However, Amanda Komarnicki was there to pick up the rebound and increase the Explorers lead to 2-0.

Despite increased offensive pressure from the Minutewomen in the final 15 minutes, Morgan Golden scored La Salle's third of the afternoon at 84:32 to put a comeback out of reach. UMass out-shot the Explorers, 6-4 in the second half but finished the contest with an 11-7 deficit in shots. La Salle led in corner kicks as well, 8-3, while fouls were 8-7 against the Explorers.

Sophomore Emily Cota played 61:53 in the contest and made four saves before leaving the match with an injury. Emersyn Pullan relieved her and played the final 28:07, while recording one save. Gabby Pakhtigian played the full 90 minutes for La Salle and had two saves in the shutout.
