University of New Hampshire graduate John Conlon enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Minutewomen this fall. Conlon, who spent this past spring as a volunteer assistant coach at Northeastern, was an assistant coach at his alma mater, UNH, from 2005 to 2008. Among his many duties for the Wildcats, Conlon served as the team's goalkeeping specialist while working towards a Master's degree in Kinesiology: Sports Studies. He was a part of the New Hampshire staff that was named America East Coaching Staff of the Year in 2007. Prior to his time as an assistant coach, Conlon served as a strength and conditioning intern at New Hampshire from 2004 to 2006 and worked with many of the Wildcats' athletic teams, including track & field, men's and women's tennis and men's soccer. He spent the summer of 2006 in Winchester, Mass., as an intern with Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning. Conlon has a NSCAA Advanced Regional Certification and a NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma and has worked a number of camps, including serving as the UNH Women's Soccer Camp Director of Goalkeeping for two years In September 2006, Conlon earned his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology: Exercise Science and graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors. |
