UConn Carnival Recap

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass Skiing will travel to Waterville Valley this weekend to compete in the Plymouth State Carnival. The Minutemen will be looking to build on their first place finish last Saturday, while the Women look to improve after finishing fifth last weekend. Both squads were successful at last season's Plymouth St. Carnival, with the Minutemen taking second place and the Women placing third.

The Men currently sit in third place in the MacConnell standings while the Minutewomen are in fourth place. After a fourth place finish last Friday, the Men bounced back to take first place in Saturday's meet, led by Andrew Hawes (Concord, Mass). Hawes took Saturday's race with a time of 1:24.28; it was his first college race victory. Matthew Small also helped pace the Minutemen throughout the weekend, placing fifth on Friday before finishing third on Saturday.
