Heidi Skinner finished 37th in the Giant Slalom on Wednesday

    WINTER PARK, Colo. - The UMass Women's Ski Team got underway at the USCSA Nationals on Wednesday, skiing to a sixth place finish in the Giant Slalom in Winter Park, Colo. Emily Shilletto (Toronto, Ont.) led the way for the Minutewomen, finishing 13th. The Women's Team will be back in action on Friday when they will compete in the Slalom.

    Shilletto completed the Giant Slalom with a time of 2:12.74, while Amy Gifford (Readfield, Maine) skied to a 20th place finish with a time of 2:13.77. Abby Nolan (Duxbury, Mass.) rounded out the top three skiers for the Minutewomen with a 30th place finish (2:16.90). Heidi Skinner (Westeron, Vt.) also competed on Wednesday, placing 37th with a time of 2:18.19.

    The Minutewomen finished just behind MacConnell Conference rivals Colby-Sawyer College and Plymouth State, which finished fourth and fifth respectively. Boston College finished seventh in the Giant Slalom, while Brown University was 11th.
