Rowing Announces 2013-14 Team Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts rowing program and head coach Jim Dietz announced the 2013-14 team schedule on Friday morning. UMass will open its season at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta for the second consecutive season.

Following competition in Oklahoma City, Okla., the Minutewomen head to Derby, Conn., for the Head of the Housatonic on Oct. 12. Simultaneously, UMass send participating boats to the Seven Sisters Sculling Race in nearby Northampton, Mass.

The Head of the Charles will be hosted in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 19-20 before the Head of the Fish in Saratoga, N.Y., on Oct. 26 and the Green Monster Regatta in Dartmouth, N.H., on Nov. 2.

The Minutewomen will participate in the USRowing Fall Regatta on Nov. 3 to close competition during the fall season.

UMass opens the spring with a March 22 head-to-head matchup against Coast Guard in Hadley, Mass., before heading to Holy Cross on April 5. The Knecht Cup follows on April 12-13 while the Minutewomen host Connecticut in Northampton, Mass., on April 18.

The Atlantic 10 Championship, which UMass finished second at in 2013, will occur in Occoquan, Va., on May 4. The Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa., is set for May 9-10 before the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Ind., from May 30-June 1.
