Streitfield Takes Gold In Double, Quad Events At The Maccabiah Games

TEL AVIV, Israel - UMass rowing program alum Michaela Streitfield (2009-13) secured a pair of gold medals during competition at the Maccabiah Games on Thursday. Streitfield earned the top spots in the double and quad finals held at the Daniels Rowing Center in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Streitfield teamed with Hannah Solis-Cohen, Caroline Post and Shay Seager during the quad final, finishing in 6:43.86 to earn the gold medal. The boat from Isreal finished second with a time of 6:55.65.
The Fort Belvoir, Va., native paired with Sigal Marcowitz for the double, taking first in 7:40.34. Streitfield's boat crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Laurie Tenenbaum and Irina Vorvorenu, who represented Israel.
The Maccabiah Games rowing competition concludes on Friday, July 26, with eight events scheduled, including the female single sculls. Fans can follow along with the action through the official event website here.
