NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its rowing all-academic squad on Wednesday morning, with UMass junior Lauren St. Pierre representing the Minutewomen on the 11-person team. Previously recognized on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll on two occasions, St. Pierre helped UMass to a second place finish at the conference championship with a strong performance in the second varsity 8+ boat.
St. Pierre, a legal studies and psychology major with a 3.781 cumulative grade-point average, also earned silver in the second varsity 8+ boat at the Dad Vail Regatta and rowed in the first place quad at the Head of the Oklahoma. The Hamilton Wenham High School graduate's performance in the eight seat as part of the second varsity 8+ at the A-10 Championships helped the Minutewomen to earn first place in the event, crossing the finish line in a time of 7:11.31.
Dayton led all conference members with three honorees while George Washington and Rhode Island secured two apiece. Fordham, Saint Joseph's and Temple each added one rower to the all-academic team.
