UMass Rowers Seek 11th Straight A-10 Championship
April 20, 2006
Amherst, Mass. - The UMass women's rowing team will head to the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday April 22, in search of their 11th straight conference championship. Races will begin at 8 a.m. in the Cooper River near Camden, N.J.
The varsity eight has won nine of the 10 years. This year's V-8 returns a lot of experience, as six of the eight rowers were in last year's winning boat. Catherine Gariepy, Gabrielle, Papineau, Hannah Brewster, Katie Berger, Ellen Maskrey, and Stephanie Hopf are the veterans. Sarah Marsan and Rachael Nealer are the two new rowers. Coxswain Dana Pulda is also new this year.
