AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass rowing team will be honored for winning its 11th straight Atlantic 10 championship last season at halftime of Wednesday's men's basketball game against St. Bonaventure. UMass' Atlantic 10 championship marks the longest active championship streak among A-10 teams in all sports.

The Minutewomen secured their 11th conference championship on April 22, 2006 beating second place Saint Joseph's by 12 points. Following that win, the team continued its successful season last year by winning the Metro Cup at the ECAC championships for the fifth straight year, finishing ahead of runner up Buffalo by 12 points.

UMass will open up their 2007 slate on March 24 against the United States Coast Guard Academy and the University of New Hampshire at home.

Wednesday's men's basketball game tips off at 7:00 p.m. at the Mullins Center. For ticket information, go to www.umassathletics.com or call 1-866-UMASS-TIX.
