CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Members of the UMass rowing team finished competition of day one of the Head of the Charles regatta on Saturday. The Junior Varsity 8+ raced in the afternoon and head coach Jim Dietz raced in the Masters Double in the morning.

The UMass 8+ was made up of coxswain Emily Crain, Rachel Boudreau, Alex Daggy, Kyla Miller, Kaylah Kleczka, Sarah Wiczek, Arielle Gillette, Anna Sender, and Maggie Curran. In a field of 34 boats, the Minutewomen finished in 16th place with a time of 18:36.39.

Dietz finished in 19th in a field of 41 boats with a time of 19:41.98. This is the 46th time Dietz has competed in the Head of the Charles, this time in the Masters Doubles in the 50+ age group.

Three more UMass boats will race on Sunday in the Championship Eight, the Championship Four, and the Lightweight Four.
