Oklahoma City, Okla. - Members of the UMass rowing team competed in the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta for the first time in program history. The Minutewomen entered six boats into the competition on Saturday for the qualifying races.

Kendall Bennett had the best time for UMass in the single sculls, finishing in sixth place out of 21 competitors with a time of 19:31.197. Michaela Streitfield finished shortly after in eighth with a time of 19:40.476 and Lauren St. Pierre and Angela Stigliano took tenth and thirteenth respectively. Bennett and Streitfield qualified for the Petite Final on Sunday.

In doubles competition, Bennett and St. Pierre stroked their way to a third place finish with a time of 17:18.557. Streitfield and Stigliano finished ten seconds later in fourth place. Both boats qualified for the Grand Final on Sunday.

Head Coach Jim Dietz took first place in the single sculls with a time of 18:49.667, 4.31 seconds ahead of the second place boat.

The Minutewomen will compete in the finals of their races on Sunday, as well as in the quad.
