UMass Rowing Ends Weekend At Eastern Sprints

COOPER RIVER, N.J. - The UMass rowing team rounded out the weekend at Eastern Sprints on Sunday, placing tenth overall. The Minutewomen, who entered five boats, competed in qualifying heats in the morning and final races in the afternoon.
The second Varsity 4+ was the only UMass boat of the day to advance to the Grand Final, in which they finished in fifth place with a time of 8:53.27.
The Novice 8+ finished in third place in the Grand Final race, crossing the line with a time of 8:10.442.
All of the other three boats finished in fourth place in their respective Petite Finals. The second Varsity 8+ finished four seconds behind the Holy Cross boat with a time of 8:02.292 and Buffalo won the race with a time of 7:39.54.
Buffalo also won the Petite Final of the Varsity 4+, crossing the line with a time of 8:39.154. The Minutewomen finished under 14 seconds later behind Holy Cross and Rutgers.
The Varsity 8+ finished with a time of 7:41.665 in a close race with Georgetown, who won the Petite Final, and familiar foes Holy Cross and Boston College.
