BOSTON, Mass. - The UMass rowing team took on MIT, Buffalo, and Simmons College on the Charles River on Saturday in Boston, Mass. The Varsity 4+ continued their winning streak and the junior varsity eight nearly grabbed a win in their last race before the Atlantic 10 Championship Regatta.

The varsity four finished in first place with a time of 8:21.9 minutes, which was more than 17 seconds ahead of the second place boat. The boat was coxswained by Heather Pekarovich and the stroke was lead by Arielle Gillette.

The junior varsity eight finished in second place behind Buffalo but put up a good fight, finishing just four seconds behind the winning boat with a time of 7:29.2. The boat was coxswained by Madolyn Chiu and the stroke was lead by Kaitlyn MacKenzie.

The novice eight also finished in second place, missing first, which was captured by Buffalo by less than twelve seconds and crossing the finish line with a time of 7:53.3. Caitlin O'Leary was the coxswain and Kelly St. Cyr lead the stroke.

The varsity eight finished in third place with a time of 7:37.2. Isabel Feldman was the coxswain and Marika Kopp lead the stroke.

The Minutewomen will head to the Atlantic 10 Championships on May 5 for their second-to-last regatta of the year.
