New York, N.Y. - Columbia swept four races from the UMass women's crew on Sunday in an event held on the Harlem River. In the featured varsity eight race, the Lions edged the Minutewomen by just over a second.

Here are the results from Sunday:

Varsity 8:

1. Columbia 7:29.29

2. UMass 7:30.95

UMass boat: Kristina Ferraro (cox), Ellen Maskrey, Lea Jakobsen, Gabrielle Papineau, Hannah Brewster, Katie Berger, Stephanie Hopf, Faith Harkins, Catherine Gariepy.

1st Novice 8:

1. Columbia 7:24.46

2. UMass 8:08.87

UMass boat: Dana Pulda (cox), Courtney Mulvihill, Amanda Mawn, Annie Pacheco, Stephanie Rist, Jenn Kennedy, Julie Markus, Rachael Nealer, Julia Stern.

 

 

2nd Novice 8:

1. Columbia 7:32.89

2. UMass 7:50.45

UMass boat: Allison Medoff (cox), Michelle Woodford, Karalyn Walk, Anne Osborn, Laura Condella, Sara Weinstock, Baille Jones, Leisl Bauman, Jackie Burgoyne.

Third Varsity 4:

1. Columbia 10:19.00

2. UMass "A" 10:57.78

3. UMass "B" 11:35.91

The UMass "A" boat included: Amber Monson (cox), Melissa Stewart, Jaime Dicke, Jess Bridge, Katie Freeley. The UMass "B" boat included: Allie Bahn (cox), Jackie Tuell, Jay Yankowski, Kristen Boyce, Justina Jassen.

The Minutewomen will race next on Saturday April 9 in Boston against Northeastern, Penn, Syracuse, and MIT.
