Karen Plevock enters her first season as a Graduate Assistant with UMass Rowing, where she will coach the novice second and third boats. Plevock is a 2009 grad from UMass where she was a four year member of the Minutwomen squad. She was named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete following her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Below are Plevock's collegiate statistics:

Spring 2008 (Junior): Named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association National Scholar-Athlete for achieving a 3.832 cumulative grade point average. Member of the varsity four team which placed fifth in the ECAC Championships (8:17.86)...placed third in the Yankee Cup (9:40.7).

Spring 2007 (Sophomore): Named a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete for maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Member of the second varsity eight team which finished second to URI in the Yankee Cup in Kingston, R.I. (3/30); first against Iona and Colgate at Orchard Beach, N.Y. (4/1); fourth against Northeastern, Texas, and Columbia in Boston (4/17); and won the silver medal in the A10 Championships (4/21) helping UMass to its 12th consecutive Atlantic 10 victory, a feat that no other Atlantic 10 team has ever accomplished.

Fall 2006 (Sophomore): Rowed on the varsity four boat which finished twelfth at the Head of the Housatonic.

2006 (Freshman): Rowed second seat in the first novice eight ... the boat finished first at the Yankee Cup, fifth at the A-10 Championship and fourth at the ECAC Championship.

Before UMass: Ran outdoor track for four years and indoor for three, serving as captain of both teams ... also played soccer for three years.

Personal: Majored in Biology with a Pre-Med focus ... born December 9, 1986.
