As a Freshman in 2010-11: Spring 2011: Finished in fifth place in the Novice 8+ at the Dad Vail Regatta with a time of 7:31 ... Finished in second place in the Novice 4+ at the Knecht Cup ... Raced in the 2nd Varsity 8 at the Yankee Cup (March 26) and finished second with a time of 8:23.13. Before UMass: Played volleyball, basketball and ran track at Lakeside High School, where she graduated in 2010 ... Made the first team all-conference in volleyball during her senior season and second team all-conference following her junior year ... Was named to the all-academic volleyball and basketball teams on several occasions ... Finished her basketball career at Lakeside after playing in 106 games while scoring 436 points and pulling down 480 rebounds. Personal: Alexandra Elizabeth Daggy ... Nov. 24, 2009 AMHERST, Mass. - UMass Head Rowing Coach Jim Dietz announced Tuesday that Alexandra Daggy has signed a National Letter of Intent with Massachusetts. Daggy will join the Minutewomen for the 2011 season as a freshman. "After spending summers on Cape Cod, Alex is looking forward to coming back to Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree and to compete in Rowing," said UMass assistant coach Alex Binkowski." She is a fierce competitor, but is also willing to do the work necessary to succeed. The entire coaching staff looks forward to getting her out on the Connecticut River." Daggy is currently enrolled at Lakeside High School in Nine Miles Falls, Wash. She has competed in basketball, volleyball, and track, earning letters in all three sports. Daggy was part of the Lakeside volleyball team that advanced to the Washington State Championships three times. She also had the fifth farthest discuss throw in the state during her junior year. In the classroom, Daggy is a multiple Distinguished Scholastic Award Winner and was named to the Spring Academic All-Conference Second Team. |
