Raced in the club 8+ at the Head of the Charles Regatta (October 20) and finished in 16th in a field of 34 boats with a time of 18:36.39...Finished in second place in the junior varsity 8+ at the Head of the Fish (October 27) with a time of 12:39.64 and also raced in the open 2X and 1X and finished in 8th and 12th respectively. As a Sophomore in 2011-12: Spring 2012: Competed in the Second Varsity Four at the Yankee Cup (March 31), which finished in first with a time of 8:37.55...Defeated UConn (April 6) with a time of 7:57.3 in the 2V4...Finished in second at Holy Cross (April 7) with a time of 8:15.04...Took fifth in the single competition at the Knecht Cup (April 15) with a time of 9:23.07...Took third in the 2V4 with a time of 8:38.5 against MIT and Buffalo (April 21). As a Freshman in 2010-11: Spring 2011: Finished in fifth place in the Novice 8+ at the Dad Vail Regatta with a time of 7:31 ... Finished in second place in the Novice 4+ at the Knecht Cup ... Nov. 24, 2009 AMHERST, Mass. - UMass Head Rowing Coach Jim Dietz announced Tuesday that Alexandra Daggy has signed a National Letter of Intent with Massachusetts. Daggy will join the Minutewomen for the 2011 season as a freshman. "After spending summers on Cape Cod, Alex is looking forward to coming back to Massachusetts for her undergraduate degree and to compete in Rowing," said UMass assistant coach Alex Binkowski." She is a fierce competitor, but is also willing to do the work necessary to succeed. The entire coaching staff looks forward to getting her out on the Connecticut River." Daggy is currently enrolled at Lakeside High School in Nine Miles Falls, Wash. She has competed in basketball, volleyball, and track, earning letters in all three sports. Daggy was part of the Lakeside volleyball team that advanced to the Washington State Championships three times. She also had the fifth farthest discuss throw in the state during her junior year. In the classroom, Daggy is a multiple Distinguished Scholastic Award Winner and was named to the Spring Academic All-Conference Second Team. |
