AS A JUNIOR IN 2015-16
Spring 2016: Sat six seat in the Second Varsity 8+ in the season home opener against Atlantic 10 conference rival Rhode Island (3/26) ... Tallied a first place victory in the Second Varsity 8+ in a dual regatta at Connecticut (4/2) ... Sat six seat in the Second Varsity 8+ at the inaugural Doc Hosea Regatta in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (4/3) ... Took home a gold medal in the Second Varsity 8+ at the Knecht Cup after a 6:47.17 finish. The crew opened up the weekend with a first-place win in Heat 3 at 7:24.91, followed by a second-place finish at 6:54.83 in Semifinal 3, good to advance to the Grand Final round (4/10) ... Finished fourth in Varsity 8+ with a time of 6:40.3 at the Four-School Regatta on the Charles River against Boston University, Dartmouth and Northeastern (4/17).

Fall 2015: Sat fourth seat in the UMass B boat at the Princeton Chase and finished the three-mile course with a time of 16:28.9, good for 46th place of 65 (11/1) ... Paired up with Pippa Edwards in the 2+ at the Collegiate Small Boat Challenge (10/31) ... Finished 24th in the Championship 8+ at the Head of the Charles with a time of 17:37.8 (10/18) ... Finished ninth in the 8+ Collegiate at Head of the Housatonic in a time of 15:40.8, 20 seconds ahead of Atlantic 10 rival Rhode Island (10/10).

Spring 2015: Picked up a silver medal in the Second Varsity 8+ event in the quad-meet with BC, MIT and Dartmouth (4/4) ... Earned a second place finish in the Second Varsity 4+ race vs. Connecticut (4/16) ... Took fourth place in the Second Varsity 4+ boat in UMass' quad-meet with Boston University, Northeastern and Brown (4/18).

Fall 2014: Was a member of the Varsity 8+ boat and picked up a fifth place finish in the Women's 4+ in a time of 19:14 at the Head of the Housatonic (10/11) ... Raced the 1x and finished in 10th place in the 2x with a time of 21:07.2 at the Seven Sisters Sculling Regatta (10/12) ... At the Head of the Fish (10/25), was a member of the JV 8+ boat that won gold in 12:55.66 and also picked up a sixth place finish in the Collegiate 4+.

Spring 2014: Raced in the Fourth Varsity 8+ boat at the Yankee Cup (3/29) ... In a five team meet on the Connecticut River (4/6), rowed in the Novice 8+ event ... At the Knecht Cup (4/12-4/13), raced in the Novice 4+ and Novice 8+ races and finished third and sixth in the Petite Finals, respectively ... Notched a first place finish in the N8 event with a time of 8:13.36 against UConn (4/18) ... Rowed in the Novice 8+ boat and secured a second place finish in 7:55.00 against Radcliffe (4/19).

Fall 2013: Was a member of the third UMass Novice 8+ boat at the Green Monster (11/2), which finished 13th with a time of 19:39.

BEFORE UMASS: Attended Lynnfield High School ... Played volleyball throughout high school where she was named an all-star in her junior and senior years ... Won state championships for volleyball in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons ... Also ran track.

PERSONAL: Abigail Jane Norwood ... Daughter of Jonathan and Jennifer Norwood ... Has one sister, Marie ... Studying history and public health sciences.
