Katie Ferris, Kelsey McGovern Earn IWLCA All-America Accolades

After leading the UMass women's lacrosse team to an 18-3 overall record and a first round win over UConn in the NCAA Tournament, junior attack Katie Ferris and junior defender Kelsey McGovern were both named to the IWLCA All-America Third Team as announced Wednesday morning. This marks the first time since 1987 that UMass has had a pair of Minutewomen named to one of the IWLCA All-America teams in the same season. MORE

No. 7 Penn State Defeats No. 15 Women's Lax In NCAA Second Round

A late flurry of goals to close the first half and a strong performance in the draw circle gave the seventh-seeded and No. 7 ranked Penn State women's lacrosse team a 12-9 win over the No. 15 UMass women's lacrosse team on Sunday afternoon in the NCAA Tournament Second Round at the PSU Lacrosse Field. While a thunderstorm delay suspended play for over an hour, it was a four-goal spurt when play resumed that ended a 29-year drought for the No. 15/8 UMass women's lacrosse team as the Minutewomen defeated No. 18/19 UConn for their first NCAA Tournament win since 1984.
