Kerri Connerty Named UMass Athlete of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. - After posting three consecutive hat tricks last week against No. 7 Dartmouth, La Salle, and Saint Joseph's, junior midfielder Kerri Connerty (Nashua, N.H.) has been named the UMass Athletics/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week.
Connerty tallied 11 goals and collected 10 groundballs in the three game home stand. She was 3-for-4 for the week on free position shots and controlled one draw.
In the win over La Salle, she scored three goals on four shots and picked up three groundballs. Her best game of the week was in the loss to No. 7 Dartmouth where she scored five of UMass' six goals on seven shots and recorded three groundballs. She closed out the week with her third consecutive hat trick netting three goals versus SJU. She also had a season-high four groundballs in that game.
The legal studies major ended the week on a five game multi-point streak dating back to March 23 - a win at New Hampshire. Since missing the Harvard game (3/5), Connerty has scored 30 points in eight games. She leads UMass in goals (27), assists (8) and points (35) and is in the midst of her finest collegiate season on pace to become one of the top women's lacrosse players in Massachusetts history.
Through 44 career games, Connerty has scored 81 points on 60 goals and 21 assist.
The Minutewomen head to the road this weekend with Atlantic 10 contests at St. Bonaventure on Friday and at Duquesne on Sunday.
The Sports Luncheon will be held in the Campus Center at UMass in Room 1009. Head women's coach Marnie Dacko will be a guest speaker this week.
