NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse senior Kelsey Sheridan was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. It marks the first weekly honor of Sheridan's collegiate career. She shares the award with Allison Heath of Saint Joseph's.

Sheridan had four groundballs, two draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers when the Minutewomen limited Colorado's offense throughout a 17-4 victory at McGuirk Stadium on Friday. Her performance contributed to UMass holding Colorado to just 13 shots and 11 groundballs in the game while she assisted in forcing 20 turnovers and eight failed clears in 14 chances for the Buffaloes.

The No. 9 Minutewomen (7-0 overall) head to Vermont (7-1) to face the Catamounts on Tuesday, March 18 at 3 p.m. More on the contest can be found through UMassAthletics.com here.
