CORNING, N.Y. - The University of Massachusetts women's lacrosse team (6-10) fell to Temple University this evening, 13-9, in the Atlantic 10 tournament semifinals, ending their late-season three-game winning streak. After leading 6-5 at halftime, UMass surrendered eight second-half goals to take the loss.

The Minutewomen held a 7-5 lead early in the second half, but the Owls proceeded to reel off six straight goals, taking an 11-7 edge. The four-goal lead was all Temple would need, as the UMass squad could only muster two more goals.

Senior captain Tracey Drown (Nashua, N.H.) was the leading scorer for Massachusetts, netting three goals. Senior Emma Butcher (Bucks, England) tallied two goals of her own, while senior Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.) and sophomores Lindsay Cassell (Weston, Mass.) and Kerri Connerty (Nashua, N.H.) all notched one goal and one assist. Junior captain Maura McGarrity (Chester Springs, Pa.) and freshman Brianna Bubeck (Selkirk, N.Y.) each lit up the scoreboard once as well.

Duquesne was victorious in the other semifinal match, downing St. Bonaventure, 12-7.
