Women's Lacrosse Falls To Temple, 14-2

AMHERST, Mass. - Temple University defeated the University of Massachusetts, 14-2, in women's lacrosse action today at Ruth J. Totman field. The Owls improve to 9-4 overall and 5-0 in the Atlantic 10, while the Minutewomen fall to 8-6 on the season and 5-2 in conference play.
Temple's Tiffany Pulaski scored two quick goals to give the Owls the 2-0 advantage with 17:56 remaining in the first half. Junior Kelli Kurtz (Schwenksville, Pa.) put Massachusetts on the board at 15:47 when she scored from the point on a pass from sophomore Hope Zelinger (Ellicott City, Md.). Temple scored four straight goals to extend the lead to 6-1, before UMass junior Jada Emery (Princeton, N.J.) scored with 9:10 remaining in the half. Junior Leslie Pollock (Watervliet, N.Y.) was credited with the assist. As the half drew to a close Temple scored two more times to take an 8-2 lead going into the break.
Temple scored six unanswered goals in the second half to secure the 14-2 victory. Robin Keevan and Pulaski each tallied three goals for the Owls, while Noelle Cebron and Deanna Radcliff each chipped in two goals.
The Minutewomen return to action on Friday, April 26, when they take on the University of North Carolina at Richard F. Garber field. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
